The Schundler Company is one of the oldest perlite and vermiculite processing companies in America. Fritz Schundler began processing vermiculite in the late 1920's and he opened the Schundler perlite mine in New Mexico in the 1940's. His nephew, Otto Schundler, founded The Schundler Company in New Jersey in 1951, and the company currently is managed by three of his boys.

The Schundler Company has been providing perlite and vermiculite aggregates to the plastering and fireproofing industries since it started, and has been manufacturing a variety of fireproofing products for over ten years.
